We’ve decided that FMA is shit and we’re no longer subbing it. We do commend Lance and the Funimation crew for attempting to keep up with the fansubbing scene by streaming free, subbed episodes shortly after the air date. Unfortunately, fansubbers will still continue to fansub since the age of the Internet has made us all demand instant gratification, as evidenced by the fact that there are a bajillion groups working on the show and releasing shortly after Japanese airing.
Look at Crunchyroll and their 0-hour subs. No one touches whatever they’re subbing no matter how atrocious their timing/styling/encoding is because there is no point competing. Sure you can download the rip over torrents, but if you’re offering it free in the first place there really is no point other than to have a hard copy of it.
Really, Funimation shouldn’t bother with C&Ds and just start airing FMA2 at the same time as the Japanese airing. It’d kill off all the fansubbers instantly.

Hey folks it’s Easter, this means most normal people (I am somewhat normal) who are minimally religious will spend some time away from the computer to do stuff. Christian and Jewish primarily of course, although I read that Muslims celebrate Good Friday as well since it’s a statutory holiday. They take advantage of the fact that families are off work and since most stores are closed, they all go to mosque and it is in fact one of the highest attendance days of the year. They have special services talking about Jesus’ place as one of the prophets of Islam as well. Apparently this Easter also falls upon Buddhist New Year. It’s a veritable smörgåsbord of spirituality this year.
That being said, subs for the next ep of HAGANE NO RENKINJUTSUSHI (2009) – FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD (where does Brotherhood come from? It sounds retarded that’s why we omitted it) will most likely be delayed. Considering I have a final on Monday, release schedule could be pretty tight! However, there’s a whole shitload of other groups doing the show (before inevitable C&D) so if you can’t wait for ours, you can always grab theirs.
People ask me why I fansub when I tell them to go grab other people’s subs if they can’t wait. My only response to that is: we have the superior puns.

Some fans from /m/ have decided to start up a Gundam 30th Anniversary contest with fabulous prizes. Karaoke, drawing, trivia, cosplay (wat), propaganda and more await your enjoyment. All the prizes are supplied by other fans with their own money, so it’s really a grassroots kind of shindig. Anyone can join in!
You may have noticed this on Good Haro’s blog already but you know, never hurts to spread the word. Considering Bandai is pretty much doing dick all for non-Japanese for the 30th anniversary, I think this is as good a way to celebrate as any.

I’m actually kind of curious how good Google translate is. It turned a lot of things that shouldn’t have been translated (mostly names) and ignored slang words. How hard is it to understand for someone who speaks mostly Spanish?

So every anime blog out there is either busy hammering away or has already done writing up their impressions on the final episode of Gundam 00 S2 and, by extension, the whole series. I’m sure a lot of them will cry about Gundam 00 S2 suddenly jumping into “super” territory and they’ll be categorically wrong, because GN technology at least makes nods towards real physics (e.g. quantization as a method of teleportation is just a dramatic scaling up of quantum entanglement).
They’ll probably figure that Aeolia’s plan is dealing with aliens, when it’s more trying to bring peace and unite the world so they can better progress in space colonization. If/when we meet with aliens, we would be more capable of dealing with them as a united people rather than constantly fighting amongst ourselves.
In any case, just typing out my thoughts on the series as a whole, as leader of the (usually) fastest and most downloaded group. 
I mean, we are endorsed by THAT after all, that’s gotta count for something. Good thing their last episode coverage didn’t have any of the awful lines that koda fell asleep on! Continued…
