You know, I never realized how loyal I was to the man with the license until I lost my ability to watch hd formats (dumb comp)… Finally after two weeks it worked and I couldn’t settle for any other fansub that GSS xD. just out of curiosity and since I don’t watch (yet) gundam 00 and the mistranslation/typo/whatever isn’t as obvious as the brick one (I’m still laughing from that one), what is wrong with that sentence?

It’s just AoShen not realizing that Celestial Being is the name of the group, so you don’t pluralize it. Kind of like how it’s not the “Justice Leagues”.

As for Victory, it absolutely owns. Hell, Usso is probably the smartest NewType out of all of them, simply by the way he manipulates the Beam Sabers and the Wings of Light. His V2 Assault Buster Gundam could still take out anything Seed Destiny and 00 can dish out.
0083 is still an awesome series, though Nina makes me sick. Kou deserves a different female protagonist.

Agreed with Landstalker, Wing was bad its beyond overated in america, anyone encountered one of the die hard fanboys???they act like its the only Gundam show in existance -___- and i still dont see the comparrison between it and 00 really.
Wing wasn’t bad if you took the time to really watch it. But honestly, I don’t know any other Gundam series other than SEED/S-Destiny that made a new cast of main (and promising) characters and actually shoved them off the spotlight for the older main (boring as sh*t) characters who love to shove their ideals down our throats. Seed was terrible, and Destiny just made it from bad-tasting chocolate to instant sh*t. >>

Nah i did take the time to rewatch it, hell i even got the HD subs recently and in conclusion its still bad. The writing was terrible, they tried jumping in to the freakin plot in the first ep and they gave us a pretty vague backstory to their so called “war” if you can call it one -__-. And to top it off the dialogue was very stupid, heres an example from Zechs, “no, no machine gun for him, shoot him down!!”
I thought SEED Destiny was awesome, aside from Athrun, Cagali, and Shinn.
Though I did lol when Shinn was raped by Athrun in about five frames.
nah, seed in its own right was good. but destiny just came along and ruined the entire franchise name.
Well I’m not saying Wing is great. it was decent. If not, mediocre, but gets an applause for having at least a plot that kept interest for people to watch. SEED… I mean.. really? Good? Sure… good at stealing literally every concept used in older gundams, having horrible pacing, and trying to resolve everything in the last 3 episodes. It was eye-candy, nothing more.
Anyways, I just watched the raw for this week’s ep. Can’t wait for the translation.. well I have to wait but I’m the edge of my.. err.. bed… as it’s late xD

SEED and Destiny both started with some promise, but ended up failing them pretty badly.
I will never watch AoShen subs again. The grammar and whatever meaning the sentences are supposed to have are twisted so badly that the translation becomes nearly unintelligible.

SEED is a good anime not a good gundam though, every gundam is broken in that series. (broken as in too strong)
I completely disagree.
SEED was a horrible anime until the Alaska incident. That was when it began climbing the ladder of decency until I was able to call it “good” without being ashamed. It focused too much on characters that were completely vapid. It was only when they finally added some depth, when Kira stopped crying about every little thing, when the teenagers stopped whining about their lives, did it become watchable.
Freedom’s brokeness added to the watchability factor.
SEED Destiny was a huge step forward in plot and the way they treated characters. The introduction of the new protagonist cast and then shoving them off and treating them as secondary characters was actually a good move, as they were mostly unlikable, save a few. But because they were unlikable and Kira and Lacus had absolutely no detestable qualities, you could at worst be neutral to them. It was satisfying to see the conflicts between the two casts. The most annoying thing about SEED Destiny was probably Athrun and Cagali. Whereas Athrun was likable in the beginning of SEED and Kira was not, Athrun was intolerable in Destiny until the damn finale. Cagali never redeemed herself. She cried just as much as Kira did in SEED, without the awesome piloting skills. Regardless, it was Durandal that made SEED Destiny shine.

You watch Gundam SEED and SEED Destiny in the same manner in which you watch a Stallone or Seagal movie – with no attention paid towards plot or character development. You watch em just for the explosions.

Actually Gundam SEED and Destiny have horrible pink explosions which get repeated over and over again because they were so cheap they reused the same frames and animations for everything.
Wow… pointless rants on what people liked or disliked about the gundam series (namely seed)… how about the damned meaning it has behind wars!? how it effects people, and how it is brought out and conducted? Wing was showing us how more powerful countries bully weaker ones along with the desensitization of wars with the mobile dolls, Seed showed us what effects racism has on war, seed destiny basically the same as seed but showed how people are so easily led by propaganda, and 00 is covering propaganda, racism, bully countries, religion, and any other thing you can think of…. I never mentioned the older gundam series as great as they were, cause i never really found anything in them besides separatist nations waring against one another.
Sheeesh people. open you minds outside of the cool mechs and all the action. if only a tiny bit.
SEEDs finale was pretty good. Captured the theme of a war spiralling out of control pretty good.
Destiny was just fucking frustrating too watch. ugggggggggggggggggggggghghghghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I could bitch about Shinn/Cagalli’s dialogue between each other forever. ugggggh

at around 13:35? The script is perfect with the audio before that, but after, it’s about 14 seconds behind.
actually it wasnt just the CE series reusing scenes, every Gundam series reuses battle sequences(except for OVAs and movies) and stuff too until 00 came and broke the chain. But enough of that we can save that for a forum discussion….peacefully.

00 does reuse animation but usually is fairly clever about it so you don’t notice it except for really blatant stuff like launching sequences.
Was I the only one that was more amused by Tieria? I already knew what Setsuna was going to say, I mean that is pretty much the only thing that came to mind. But for Tieria, I thought he might have been thinking about the Innovators, but no… It was some damn computer system… hahaha! At least Setsuna was thinking of something quite tangible.
