Okay, so I didn’t really shit bricks, but Sora Kake Girl is surprisingly entertaining. Mind you, initially I was fairly skeptical about the show because the preview material that was released pretty much indicated that the show would be garbage (aka tits and little girl fanservice). Then, of course, the first episode hits and you have Leopard voiced by Fukuyama Jun using an over-the-top Zero voice. It’s marvelous. Other people agree while others vehemently think this show is a piece of shit. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions, but I’m pretty sure the latter guys are retarded. Anyway.
The one thing that stands out to me is that the main character (Akiha) is fairly normal, aside from being the daughter of some rich family. She’s the Straight Man in a show where pretty much every single other person is crazy in some form or another. Itsuki is completely unable to socialize with other human beings in a normal fashion. Akiha’s sister (whose name I forgot and I am too lazy to look up) is apparently some kind of psychotic bitch who, in the immortal words of Alfred from The Dark Knight, “Just wants to see the world burn”. Leopard is an insane colony AI with a giant Fuck-Off Antimatter Cannon but his narcissism is easily ignored by Akiha, who doesn’t take shit from anybody, and annihilated by Imo-chan.
Speaking of which, Imo-chan owns. She’s voiced by Ai Nonaka, who you may remember as Konoka (ok no one watched Negima so you probably won’t), Ichijou (PPD), Kafuka Fura (SZS) and Fuko (CLANNAD). She’s awesomely bipolar and a complete petrolhead for classic vehicles. Also a source of Betterman (and by extension, Gundam 00) references for “I HAABU CONTROLLU!”
There are some dumb things that have been mentioned before, like their Middle East solution or the fact that the colony designs don’t make sense. The OP is made by Ali Project which is probably the one artist that I can never stand, ever. Okay, I hate Maximum the Hormone too. Good god, Death Note OP2 sucked massive amounts of cock.
Then again we’re only 3 episodes (4, really, but only 3 subbed at the moment) in so of course the show could easily lose steam and totally turn into crap. However, it’s fairly entertaining, even if the main plot hasn’t been set in motion. The mecha designs are pretty nice, I mean, they’ve got three or more legs and have wheels which should make for some potentially entertaining fight scenes. Nothing too inspired, yet, but who knows. I’m not sure if it’s as enjoyable if you don’t catch the Sunrise meta-humour, though. It’s pretty hard to escape the joke about Leopard’s giant cock laser powered by his golden nuts and leaves him basking in the afterglow of his refractory period, though.
Of course, judging by the Mai-*me crew working on this show, this could be another Mai-Hime where everything is totally awesome and then suddenly the last episode ruins the whole fucking series.

I’m not really a mecha fan, ‘cept for a few oldies (when the robots weren’t really all that colorful) and macross. So I dare to ask, should I watch it or just avoid it in the name of my sanity?
FINALLY someone else who lhas seen negima and betterman. But sadly it l;ooks like most sub groups have stopped or were shut down or at least their main sites namely the ONE group who was doing their best for weekly releases anime-share fansubs. But to landstalker dpends on iuf you don’t mind something almost as flashy as the last episode of avatar the last aibender i was nearly blind. Or chock full of sexual jokes and as Eej said a show with nmore loons than arkham. I still can’t wait for episode 4 myself and whenver they say “i have control” i just get massive flashbacks to the kakusagen from betterman and keep expecting someone to say in reply “you have control”. So you may or may not it really dpends but i doubt it just try a few episodes and see.

I haven’t been able to talk myself into watching the next episodes, but I partially blame F/SN for that.Nice point about Akiha being the straight man. Solid Imo-chan .gif you have there, too. If you watch it for a while it becomes hypnotic, like a metronome . . .

This convinced me that Sunrise was surprisingly great at self-parodies. So when I heard Sore Kake Girl had Sunrise-related humor, I just had to watch. And I haven’t been disappointed yet.

Just watched 4 eps, indeed it was good. The mechas are interesting, nothing like gundam (yeah, I hate gundam). I felt that this series is going to be like a futuristic version of those charming thieves romance, which wouldn’t be bad actually. Also, Imo annoys me. Leopard is fucking awesome
Well, in the defense of retards, Ep. 1 wasn’t all that hot. However Leopard won me over enough to watch Ep. 2. And Ep. 2 was waaaaaaaay better then the first. But the third one was amazing.
So really people need to give this the “Three Episode Rule” if they are wary of it at all.
More than just 3 episodes, people should also consider looking for a synopsis. If you’re still not sure about after reading, then you should consider watching. But, more than 3, I do believe it should be 5 or 6. There are series that started really awesome and then took a wrong curve, just like there are ones that started really crappy but ended as something worth watching
I watched episode one thought it was gunna be crap but after 20 minutes I was happily wrong. when i heard that Konoka(I watched it for the short shit it was) and Fuko voiced Imo I got my ass moving and watched episode 2
P.S. wtf anime producers make something bad (ok theres bad stuff just more of it) so that I don’t have to watch so much (currently watching 35 series =’( )
