Where the hell does “special forces” come from. MISUTA BUSHIDO even says in plain English, “One Man Army” right before the line where he says “hitori no guntai”. I don’t know how you even manage to mangle that translation so bad.
It’s okay, though, Nyoro~n has a loyal cadre of anonymous posters backing Lolfang up and on most torrent trackers their seeds/peers are greater than ours. Wait actually that’s not okay. It’s in fact a source of significant grief since Lolfang mistranslates totally random lines in each episode by flipping subject-object or yes/no, skipping out on words he DOESN’T BERIEVE THEY JUST SAID and sometimes just doing excessive hand waving (a new potential meme that is sprouting on /m/ for this is called “fangfiction”). The impact of how pervasive A-LAWS is in Gundam 00 is significantly diminished when you low-ball their manpower by a factor of 10,000; a paramilitary force set up to police the world that consisted of only 4,000 members would be a joke.

The greatest thing about all this, though, is that I still have this chatlog from when I hopped into #/m/ and Lolfang curtly told me that I shouldn’t be doing Gundam 00 S2 because “he and Menclave had the fast and quality releases covered”.
Yeah. Okay.

I respect lolfang because of his creativity of coming up with original translations and not relying to outdated phrases such as “one man army”. Creativity is one important factor that distinguishes you from many other translators. Seeing that the translator has a certain style and a different interpretation of the dialogue is very insightful and I’m looking forward to read those translations rather than a neutral translation. A neutral translation has no personal style which makes it rather boring and if I may say nothing better than a machine translation.
problem is we don’t want to know what lolfang has to ‘creatively’ say; if we did, I’m sure he would oblige and kindly give his fangirls some fan/fangfiction. We want to know what sunrise is having MISTA’ BUSHIDO say, NOT what lolfang thinks he should say.

Chirico Cuvie was already called an One Man Army in 1983’s Armored Trooper Votoms.
I’ve originally watched 00 from Nyoron subs, but when I payed attention to the talking while readin the subs I could tell they were being mistranslated. Made me see why a lot of original viewers felt the politics were fake, since Nyoron were the highest seeding and fastest subbers of the time.
